Choosing your hard

Dearest,

How are you? How are your fingers? How are your toes? When was the last time you gave those extremes of your body some love and attention?

My countdown to finishing paid employment is now just four weeks away. I know that it's not going to be easy but it's the hard that I am choosing. It's one of those mantra's/sayings that really resonates with me "Choose Your Hard".

I'm choosing this "hard" as I don't want to look back and have the regret of not giving it a go. I'm choosing this "hard" because staying where I am is draining and lacks joy. I'm choosing this "hard" because I have the privilege to be of service to amazing scientists and engineers who are all doing mahi to make our world a better place for each and every one of us.

I think I love the concept of choose your hard as it empowers you to actively decide and doesn't shy away that life, at least a life lived to your fullest potential, isn't going to only involve floating on a lilo, sipping cocktails in the sun.

It's hard to exercise everyday but it's also hard to be unfit and overweight.

It's hard to miss out on things/events that aren't in your budget but its also hard to not have financial freedom in your future.

It's hard to let you kids experience rejection and failure but its also hard to have kids that lack resilience, confidence and don't positively contribute to the world that are part of.

Wherever you are and whatever you are doing, I hope you are consciously choosing your hard. I hope you are excited by what your future will be like because of the choices you make today.

Most of all I hope you know how much you are worthy of your dream life - actually a life beyond your wildest dreams.

Take care dearest - of yourself, of others, of your thoughts, of your actions and of our beautiful world.

You are worthy - always

Ngā manaakitanga xx
