Creating moments.....a guide to living well

It's September 2021. September has always been the time of the year that I've treated how others treat the new year. It's the time that I reflect on the year that's been. It's the time that I reflect on whether I'm spending my time doing things that bring me joy. It's the time of year where I reset where and what I need and double down on what's working. I challenge my habits, dropping the ones that don't support how I want to feel, creating new ones that help me thrive.
This year the reality of how precious life is has been brought into stark reality. Heaven now has at least two beautiful angels who light up the stars at night well before their time. It reminds me that this world and our lives are just moments. Moments we need to spend well. So these are things I hope my children have learnt by the way I live my life and because I am still a work in progress things I hope they learn more quickly than I have! For them I wish a beautiful, unique life, that they have created with intention, curiosity and kindness. Leaving room for wonderful surprises and remaining vulnerable enough to feel it all.
Live life as you want
Live a life of service
Be kind
Spread joy
Do no harm
Hug those that you love
Sympathise for those f$c*w&ts who you don't understand and can't relate to. They have their own battles. Wish them love and understanding as they wage their war.
Don't be pulled into it
Laugh, laugh, laugh
Beware your ego, it will lead you astray if it gets the chance
Seek contentment
Feel happiness and sadness as they come - both are only fleeting
Don't cling to how you think it should be - be open to how it is
Trust
Be guided by their actions, not their words
You will create stories to justify your actions and where you are today
Challenge those stories
You're neither as good nor as bad as you think
Learn
Be curious
Be really F$*ken kind everyday, family friends, strangers
You don't need more shit
Take the first step
You don't need to know all the moves to dance
Think in terms of abundance
Loved ones will f&%k up - its' not always about you
If life was fair we wouldn't have poverty, hunger, illness or homelessness
Pull your head in
Be grateful everyday
You will have shit days (and sometimes for no apparent reason at all)
Those days pass
Be humble but learn to accept compliments
Dance
Sing
Do things that make your butt clench
FFT = f@^ken first times (as described by one of my awesome intellectual crushes - Brene Brown) - they suck, they're uncomfortable and quite often awkward - embrace them anyway and seek them out
Allow the right ones to love you
Vulnerability is the space some of the best and worst shit happens
Don't miss the best stuff just in case some of the worst happens - the best outweighs the worst ten lifetimes to one.
