Owning our power

Dearest,

How are you in this moment? Take a breath and think now, how are you in this moment? Do you feel strong a fully centered or floppy and malleable? Sit up tall and allow your body to fulfill its potential, shoulders back and chest up, core engaged. How does that change how you are feeling? More powerful maybe?

Sometimes it feels like someone turned up the volume on the crazy and absurd. That the worst of humankind is dominating. But, Dearest, that simple can't be true if we all truly own that innate internal power we all have.

I hope that you remember we are each more powerful and impactful than we realise. This doesn't mean it's only being utilised when we help millions. On no Dearest, the biggest impacts are made when each of us seeks to be of service to just one.

Imagine a world where only half of us sought to make just one person smile each day - soon the whole world is smiling. Imagine if just a few made a point of giving a compliment to one person each day - soon the whole world would feel seen. Imagine, Dearest, if we undertook one random act of kindness to one person, once a week - soon our communities would be connected and thriving.

We have the power, every day, to have impact beyond our wildest imaginations. It's what those who seek to restrict and control realise - they can use their power and make progress because too many of us don't. Take back your power, Dearest.

I understand how overwhelming it can all be, but nothing can stop love, compassion and kindness unless we allow it. So, this week Dearest, use your wonderful unique power, smile at a stranger, spread random acts of kindness, broaden your community - what starts as one can grow into an unstoppable force. This poem I wrote many years ago, but it feels relevant for now

Better Together
A single blade of grass,
Together a lawn.
A single tree,
Together a forest.
A single drop of water,
Together an ocean.
A single grain of sand,
Together a beach.
A single person,
Together an unstoppable change.

Take care Dearest - of yourself, of others, of your thoughts, of your actions and of our wonderful world.

You are worthy - always
