Dearest,
How are you in this moment? Is it a day where you awoke calm and content? Or is it a day where thoughts filled and bounced around your head making it hard to tell one from the other? Maybe by this stage in the day you don't even know!

Perhaps if we take in a deep breath now and then empty out every last drop from our lungs, replenishing them with new freshness on the next inhale. Keep doing that until you feel that calmness embrace your body.
Tell me Dearest, when was the last time you felt satisfaction? It's one of those feeling that only we can generate for ourselves. It's something that we can only achieve from putting in the mahi. Nothing we are given can produce satisfaction for us.
I can go and buy tomatoes from the shops anytime of the year (kinda wrong but a rant for another time). They taste fine and do the trick, but I don't feel personal satisfaction in the process. Yet if I've picked a tomato from our own garden, where I planted the seed, tended to it as it grew, now as I prepare that meal, there is so much satisfaction. The kind of satisfaction that surges feel good endorphins through every part of me. Perhaps the Rolling Stones just needed to put in a little bit of effort?!
It got me wondering if satisfaction is part of delayed gratification? In a world where it feels like everything is on demand and just one swipe or click away, no wonder so many aren't satisfied and spend their precious time looking for the next thing - which also doesn't bring true satisfaction, and the self-tormenting loop continues.
I also wonder if it's just me getting older and realising it's those small things that really satisfy. Completing a poem and has been ongoing for a while. Weeding the garden to reveal a beautiful environment, preparing a dinner shared around the table.
It's wonderful to see satisfaction achieved by others - passing an exam, working and saving for their first car, holiday or home. That satisfaction we can sometimes rob others of, not intentionally, but we do all the same. Fast tracking the outcome by paying for that car, by doing that assignment, by not allowing others the space, trust and faith that they will get there.
So this week, Dearest, I hope it's the most satisfying of weeks for you. And I hope you allow others to do the mahi and put in the time to feel their own true satisfaction.
Take care dearest - of yourself, other others, of your thoughts, of your actions and of our beautiful world.
You are worthy - always
Ngā manaakitanga xx
